AN EARLY CONSTABULARY SABRE, circa 1840, with 24 in. curved steel blade fullered on each side, single-edged for three quarters of its length before ending in a spear point, brass cross-guard and hilt, stirrup knuckle-guard, fish-skin grip bound with brass wire, together with its black leather scabbard with brass fittings, blade cleaned, fish-skin split, scabbard leather grazed with surface losses, fittings with denting and rivet loss to locket, 30 1/2 in. overall
